COMPOSTING CENTER MURAL
by ALI EMADI & DIEGO MONTALVO
to Prof. P.J Ricatto
The Composting Center is to me, recycling what once had a life. Even if paper gets chemically altered to be how it is at its last moment, it can be also sent with the rest of the compost elements; we know recycling also can be done in another process, because paper doesn’t decompose after having all these alterations.
Painting is not one of my strongest skills, but I see people react very positive towards any line i make with the brush; sometimes i just want to teach them it is not hard and there is nothing to admire from it.
In the past 2 months I have been working in a mural for the Dean of the Math department of Bergen Community College. I have tried to separate my graphic eye from the artist instinct and I have seen this mural evolve into something very nice.
Photos of its process, and final photos will be uploaded once I am done with the third post. A PDF book will be uploaded and for those who want it printed I am hand making a couple explaining each little detail your eye might not grab at once. It has a lot of political, environmental, and of course existential meaning. I am trying to make it as childish or better said pedagogic as possible.
People see it once say nice, see it twice will say what is that?, at the third time if they are very confused or shocked they will look for me to ask, once i explain smiles will be drawn in their faces every time they look at the mural again.

Throw it in the right place
